In Catalonia the presents don’t arrive on Christmas Eve but on the night of 5 January, brought by the Three Kings. That is why Barcelona’s festive season ends with the Fira de Reis on Gran Via, the Three Kings Market: several blocks of stalls where families do their last-minute shopping for toys, sweets and gifts right up until the Cavalcada de Reis has passed.

What is the Fira de Reis?

The Fira de Reis is the youngest and most practical of Barcelona’s Christmas markets. Where the Fira de Santa Llúcia sells nativity figures and the Port Vell market is about food and rides, the Gran Via fair is about presents: toys, games, books, clothes, gadgets, jewellery and sweets, sold from around 300 stalls along the central promenade of Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes. It is a market for locals rather than tourists, which is exactly what makes it worth a look.

Dates and opening hours 2026/27

The fair runs from around 15 December 2026 until 6 January 2027 and is usually open daily from 11:00 to 22:00, with longer hours on the last days before the Three Kings. Entry is free. The busiest moments are the evenings of 4 and 5 January, when the whole city seems to be buying that one last present.

Where is it and how to get there

On Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes between Carrer del Comte d’Urgell and Carrer de Calàbria, in the Sant Antoni / Eixample Esquerra area. Take metro L1 to Rocafort or Urgell; both stations exit directly onto the fair. From Plaça de Catalunya it is a 15-minute walk along Gran Via.

Tips

Combine the fair with the Three Kings: on the evening of 5 January the Kings arrive by boat at Port Vell and the Cavalcada de Reis parades through the city, throwing sweets into the crowd.
